Christmas.

So finally December 24th came, but Christine has been far more excited for the 23rd to come, because that day Fiona came :) It was a big day for the girls to see eachother again, though it was only two months since they last saw eachother. And the funniest part was that they couldn't care less about Christmas and all the gifts. They were totally satisfied just playing with eachother.
Well the 24th started out as always, we went to lunch at Søren's uncle house, because it is his Birthday on the 24th. We got to see lots of the family and wish them a Merry Christmas. Then in the afternoon Jesper (Søren's younger brother), June (Jesper's wife), and their two girls, Fiona and Luna came. And ofcourse Santa (as he was a little busy in the evening). The girls got their huge gift from Santa. Christine and Fiona got each a playmobil castle, but just looked at the box and said "let's go play again", and then went to Christine's room :) It has been so funny to see how they have just played, and not even asked for gifts or when it was time to unwrap them.. Just before supper time my brother, his family, my mom and Søren's parents came.. We had the traditional Christmas dinner, we danced around the Christmas tree and we exchanged gifts.. Christine got so many toys, don't know where we will put them :) it was anwonderful evening, and I especially was so happy to be able to celebrate with brother and his family for the first time in many years..
Now it is the 25th, and we are waiting for Jesper, June, Fiona, Luna and Søren's parent to come and eat leftovers for lunch. And of course Christine is so excited to play with Fiona again today.

Lots of news.

Ok friends.. My blog app has been down, and I do hope it is back to working again. So on November 24th Søren left for India. He was there for two weeks, and Christine and I missed him very much, but we did keep a little busy, so time would go faster. After dropping up Søren in the airport, we took a trip to Build-a-bear. Christine got two new build-a-bears. A bunny named Molly and a polar bear named Snowball. She loves them and bring especially Snowball everywhere.
Every Friday we swim from 5pm to 6 pm, and Christine loves it.
The first Saturday Søren was gone, the school hosted a little Christmas fair. It was lots of fun, and they had crafts for the kids to do, and the kids had made this little program with songs. They were so cute and did really good. We had a fun day with grandma Larsen and grandma Andersen.
Christine baked, and made a candlelight decoration for the dining table. After the fair ended, we went home and decorated our Christmas tree. So hopefully soon we will be ready for Christmas :)
It was a big day for both Christine and I when we had to go pick up Søren on December 8th. We were very excited to have him back home.
Last Thursday Christine walked as a Lucia Bride with all the other kids at school. It was a nice little arrangement.
Friday December 23rd Søren's younger brother and his family will be home to celebrate Christmas. On the 24th we will be 14 people here to celebrate. This year my brother gave in and decided to come to our house, and I cannot wait to celebrate Christmas with my brother, my S-I-L, my sweet niece and my sweet nephew for the first time in years. On New Years eve my best friend, Elsebeth, will come to our house, and we will have lots of fun, and no kids this evening.
We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hi there :)

So it has been a while since my last blog post.. This post will contain no pictures.. Seems like my picture-taking is not as good as it was in the USA. But I'll try to take more pictures again. Two weeks ago Søren, Christine and I went to visit Søren's younger brother and his family. We had a wonderful weekend, and Christine and Fiona had so much fun together. Cannot wait to see them all again for Christmas. The last ten days I have been working a lot, because my boss is on vacation, but then next week I'll only work wednesday and friday :)
Tomorrow we are having supper at my moms house, and we are having crabs. It is so yummy :)
Monday we have the parent/teacher conference. We already got a note explaining how far Christine is in learning the alfabet and the sounds. The teacher has written that Christine knows all the letters and almost all the sounds, and that Christine is already beginning to put letters together to small words. I believe that it is easier for Christine, now that she has already tried it before, except it was in English the first time :) But I think it gives her a big advantage.
Every friday we go to the indoor pool in Løkken together with Søren's mom. I go when I'm not working. Christine loves it. And every wednesday afternoon Christine and all the girls from school are going to this gym class. They do a little dancing, and then they do some summersaults and jump over some of the bars. She is really enjoying that, and having so much fun. Monday nights I have step aerobic lessons. I have missed those. It is so much fun, and it is great workout. On November 24th Søren is going to India for two weeks. We missed him lots when he was there only for five days, and this time he will be gone for two weeks. Not fun!
Well that was it for this post.. I promise you the next post will contain pictures ;)

Kids party.

Friday night Christine went to a party at her school. There were 40 kids, and they had lots of fun.. First they ate. They got pigs-in-a-blanket, pizza buns, carrot- and cucumber snacks. For dessert they got fruit, and later they had chips. They danced and played all night.
Last weekend Søren was in India. He left Thursday and came home Tuesday. I worked a lot during the days, and it was a little hard leaving Christine every day, knowing that someone else had to pick her up and take care of her. But we managed. Next week I have to work five days, and I know it will be hard with all the things at home too. But then the week after I don't work much.
Saturday we had friends at our house for supper. They came at 3pm and stayed for supper. They have 3 kids. Their biggest girl Sofie is the same age as Christine, and they were playing so good.

Christine ready for the party.

Just arrived. Behind the red blankets was the dance floor.

Zoo-trip and other fun stuff.

So it has been a while since my last blog post. Not much has happend, but a little. The last weekend in August we went to the theater to watch the new Smurf movie. Christine loves the smurfs and also loved the movie. We had a fun afternoon all three of us.
I have started working, and I love my new job. For now I only work part time, and I like that. I work 3 days a week, and love having to time to pick up Christine early some days. I even join their morning singing at school the days I'm off. It is a nice time to spend with Christine.
Last weekend Christine slept at Grandma and Grandpa's house from Friday to Saturday, and from Saturday to Sunday she slept at my mom's house. Saturday night Søren and I picked up pizza, and while waiting for the pizza to be done, we walked to the beach, and watched the sunset.. It was beautiful as allways.
After picking up Christine sunday morning, Christine, my mom and I went to the Zoo in Ålborg. The weather was perfect for a trip like that, and we enjoyed the day watching animals.
Oh yeah I allmost forgot... And September 9th we celebrated my Birthday. We had the closest family over for supper, and it was a wonderful evening. I even got to skype with a whole bunch of my friends in the USA. They were actually celebrating my Birthday at Olde World, my favorite cafe :)
Oh and something else. We are now using our addition to the house. It is not all done, but it can be used. Christine has a nice girls room, and we have a bedroom that is just a bedroom. No kids bed and no toys. Wich is the same with our livingroom. NO toys! And I love it.

Christine waiting to go see some smurfs.

This I have missed being in the USA. The ocean so close by.

The beautiful sunset. And of course my sweet hubby :)

Trip to Sweden.

A week ago Søren and I took a trip to Sweden together with Anne and Kim. Kim is in on this hunting cabin, which has a lot of land to go hunting on. We left thursday after lunch, and arrived at the cabin a little after midnight. It was a beautiful place, and the silence was amazing. Søren and Kim used a lot of time hunting, while Anne and I hunted mushrooms :) We went sailing, and I even cought a fish ;) We had an amazing weekend, and Sunday we headed home again. Christine enjoyed a weekend at my moms house, and from what they tell, they had a great weekend too.
I have started working. It is a little hard, but actually kind of nice to get out of the house a little. For now I'm only working part time, but in the spring I'll probably start working full time for some months. Christine loves her school, and enjoys learning the Danish alphabet.

After arriving in the cabin, Anne made some dough for buns in the morning.

Søren and my bedroom.

The cabin from the outside. It was such a nice place.
